Composed in 2011 Nexus Arts Interplayer Project, this trio work incorporates a wide range of extended techniques, instrument changes, and sonic effects, greatly expanding the richness and expressive possibilities of the ensemble.
Silk Moon
Composed in 2024 for Huqin trio, this work features both Zhonghu and Erhu to create rich low-register textures. The rhythmic structure is based on the concept of Usul, incorporating elements of ornamentation to shape a cross-regional musical style.
Thread – Destiny
Composed in 2025, this work is inspired by Nicholas Jose’s novel The Red Thread, exploring a refined and deeply emotional portrayal of love through an Eastern sensibility. It combines huqin trio, qanun, and cello, with performers intermittently reading excerpts from the novel within the performance.
